  1. I haven’t listened to this yet, but your mention of hard working Sean Bean made me think of this: http://hipstergameofthrones.tumblr.com/post/9986313739/after-lord-of-the-rings-and-game-of-thrones-i-want-to

(you probably talk about it in the pod cast and I’m going to feel like a fool once I listen, but I just got really excited because this comic makes me giggle every time I see it)

  2. It’s not genre, but the talk of shitty jobs got me thinking about Skylar from Breaking Bad and laundering money. It seems like the reversal of the shitty job trope or a different take on it: she was stuck working at the car wash not because she had to in order to support her family or because she wasn’t skilled or couldn’t find work elsewhere, but because of the needs of laundering.

I love Lupin! I haven’t met a lot of people who do.

I always kind of wondered about the wizarding economy. Where do people work other than the Ministry or Hogwarts? The shops at Diagon Alley/Hogsmeade/Godric’s Hollow/other wizarding communities? The one bank? The Daily Prophet? The Quibbler doesn’t seem to have much of a staff. It just seems to me that there would be a lot of unemployed Hogwarts graduates.
